abstract

The agreement reached between Miletus and İzmit in the last quarter of the fourth century BC is known thanks to an inscription kept in Miletus, which sums up (without taking the customary shape of a decree) the decisions taken by the two towns. Critics usually define it as an agreement of isopoliteia.
