abstract

Reused as an integral part of a retaining wall, this stele was found in the first years of the twentieth century in the village of Tholopotami, in the south of Chios. The inscription, whose text is very damaged in three out of four sides, refers to a group of basileis, to a demarchos and to the town demos.
